WORKSHOPS

BUILDING FUTURE PLAYMAKERS

All of our workshops are designed for youth athletes and have a team focus, while allowing individual athletes the opportunity to self reflect and grow.

Allyship & Mateship - What's the Connection?

(Boys 13yrs - 18yrs)

This workshop explores how sports environments can become powerful spaces for equity, connection, and safety. It shines a light on the values of Mateship and Allyship—guiding athletes to understand their influence not just on the field, but within the culture of their team or club. Through reflection and discussion, participants learn how to actively foster inclusive practices and become agents of positive change for the future of sport.

Belonging vs Fitting In

(13yrs - 18yrs)

This workshop challenges the assumption that simply being part of a team or club means feeling at home. It empowers athletes to understand the difference between fitting in and genuinely belonging—exploring the emotional and cultural markers that define each. Participants learn how to foster stronger, more inclusive environments by reflecting on their own experiences and identifying practical changes that support deeper connection and team unity.

Creating a Culture of Respect

(13yrs - 18yrs)

This workshop helps athletes recognise and celebrate the differences each teammate brings — from personal values to playing styles — as vital to team success. By fostering a culture that values inclusivity and individuality, teams can shift from simply coexisting to thriving. Athletes learn how respectful environments not only build trust and belonging, but directly contribute to high performance and stronger team cohesion.

Level Up & Lock In - Performance Mindset

(13yrs - 18yrs)

This workshop empowers youth athletes to elevate their inner game—building focus, confidence, and emotional control when the pressure’s on. Using Future Playmakers’ athlete journal for real-time reflection, participants explore the thoughts and habits behind their best performances. The session helps athletes strengthen their mental agility, manage setbacks, and develop a mindset wired for growth. It’s about performing with purpose—and building mental strength that lasts beyond the final siren.

Own Your Cycle - Performance, Periods & Empowerment

Girls (12yrs - 18yrs)

This workshop supports menstruating athletes in understanding the impact of the menstrual cycle on training, recovery, and performance. Designed to break stigmas and foster open dialogue, it equips participants with practical strategies to manage their cycle confidently—turning awareness into advantage. Through guided reflection athletes explore how nutrition, mindset, and planning can align with their physical rhythms. It's about transforming a taboo into a toolkit for peak performance.

SUPPORTING FUTURE PLAYMAKERS

All of our support workshops are designed for staff, coaches and volunteers who are actively supporting youth athletes in a club or association.

Equity & Inclusion - Fairness, Respect & Representation

This workshop invites sport leaders—from boardroom to locker room—to reflect on their role in shaping inclusive, balanced environments.

This practical session equips sport leaders to understand and apply gender equity in their environments. Through stories, reflection, and strategic planning, participants explore what fairness truly means—and how culture, language, and leadership shape it. It’s not just about balancing access—it’s about creating sport spaces where everyone feels they belong, and leadership sets that standard.

Women & Girls in Sport: Coaching, Connection & Confidence

This session invites coaches, club leaders, and sport program managers to rethink how they engage, support, and retain girls in sport. By exploring what motivates and matters to girls—including identity, belonging, and connection—participants gain insight into designing environments that foster trust, confidence, and long-term participation.

Participants explore what it takes to recruit, coach, and retain girls effectively, while addressing menstrual health as one aspect of broader performance and wellbeing support. It’s about understanding what keeps girls in the game—and how to lead with empathy and purpose.

Culture & Environments: Building Clubs That Thrive

This strategic workshop invites boards, committees, managers, coaches, and sport leaders to take a fresh look at the spaces they shape. It challenges participants to assess the visual, emotional, and cultural cues that define their club environment—from signage and behaviours to leadership tone and team rituals. The session helps leaders build sport environments where trust leads to high performance & teams move from coexisting to thriving in their clubs.

Coaches Pre Season UpSkill

This energising pre-season workshop is designed for coaches ready to refresh their approach. Whether leading youth athletes, female players, or high-performing seasonal school teams, the session brings focus back to what matters: connection, confidence, and athlete wellbeing. With thoughtful guidance, coaches explore modern practices and let go of outdated styles. Ideal for coaching groups in schools or clubs, participants leave with practical tools, renewed enthusiasm, and clarity to lead with intention from day one of the season.
